Meet the Family Behind the Fleece: Our Story & Our Herd

When people ask how we ended up with a ranch full of alpacas, it’s never a short answer—but it’s always a meaningful one.

We’re a family of builders, caregivers, and dreamers.

By trade, I design and build custom homes—spaces where families can grow and thrive. My husband, Dennis, is a hearing care practitioner, helping people connect with the world around them in ways that matter most. For years, we built businesses, then had babies with one goal in mind: to create a life full of purpose, connection, and joy.

And somewhere along the way, alpacas found their place in that dream.

Casacampo Alpaca Ranch started as a passion project—a quiet whisper of an idea during long days of construction projects and client meetings. We wanted a place where our kids could run barefoot, where we could slow down as a family, and where others could feel welcome to do the same. A place where time stretches and you can breathe a little deeper.

Our herd of alpacas quickly became part of that rhythm.

Each one has their own name, their own personality, and yes—even their own quirks.

We care for them daily—shearing in spring, trimming toes, monitoring their health, and making sure they’re happy, clean, and calm. They’re more than livestock to us—they’re woven into the fabric of our family’s life.

And when guests arrive, the alpacas seem to know they’re part of something special. Whether you’re feeding one a pellet from your hand or simply standing nearby while they hum gently in the pasture, there’s something grounding in their presence. They slow you down. They invite wonder.

But alpacas aren’t the only residents here. Our land is also home to deer, sandhill cranes, curious foxes, and more wild friends who remind us daily how alive and interconnected this place really is.

Our hope for Casacampo is simple: to create connections—not just between you and our animals, but between you and your loved ones. Between your family and nature. Between the fast pace of everyday life and a slower, sweeter kind of moment.

We invite you to come meet our herd. Walk the trail. Watch the birds and rabbits. Feed an alpaca. Let your kids laugh until their bellies hurt. And maybe, just maybe, find something here that brings your own dreams into focus.

From our family to yours—welcome to Casacampo
